Profile an artist

Salvador Dali - I chose him because he didn't care what everybody thought of his paintings. He did what he wanted and stayed true to himself. Altho he is a very famous painter and i am a high school painter who does band logos i feel like me and him have something in common. We both do what we think is fun and relaxing. I hope to be famous like he is one day, as long as i do what i love getting there.

Summing it all up!

This year in advanced art I have grown a lot as an artist. If you look at all my projects as a whole you will see I went threw phases. First I loved to make bracelets and necklaces, then I went to sculptures, and I ended with painting. I think that painting was the most fun and relaxing. I could go any direction with my projects and do whatever I wanted. The tiki hut was the hardest and most frustrating project all year. The toothpicks kept falling off and it took so long to finish. The sword was another one of my favorite projects of the school year. It was really fun creating because no one has ever really used packing peanuts to make something before. Where am I going with art in the future? I am going to be taking an art class second semester next year. I wanted to take it first but my schedule didn’t really work out for it. I’m exited to see how my drawing skills will get after another art class! I am very happy I took this class, it was between this and physics.. I think that I made the right choice. Thanks for everything

BLINK!!!

This was a extra project. I didn't get a grade but Blink is one of my favorite bands of all time and so i thought that if i have done so many other bands i should do Blink. They are awesome .. Good day

A tree, shark, and cottage

This is not a band or a cover of anything. I did this project merely for fun and to fill up some of my time. I tried to incorporate as many colors as possible and make it mesh together. I like it a lot, it might be one of my favorite projects i did all year.

This is one of my favorite albums on my ipod. It is also the one that looks the coolest. It took me over 3 weeks to make but i think that it was worth it and a good use of my time. Well anyway this is my Farewell cover album.

My inspiration

I got my idea for my favorite project this quarter from listening to music. I love all the music i listen to. Lately i have been listening to 30 seconds to mars a lot so i decided to do a project about them. i am probably going to make another painting for bands i like, its not easy but its fun and relaxes me.

Project 3 (30 seconds to mars)

This is my album cover for 30 seconds to mars.Neither of their previously albums had anything to do with mars and going there so i thought i would do the obvious and make something like that. i thought it turned out really well, and it is now one of my favorite projects. i might just stick with doing album covers and then keep painting. i thought it was fun and it turned out really well.

Prject 2 Tiki Hut (part 2)

I decided to continue working on my tiki hut for this project. I added on a bridge and i also built a whole new building. it was much more challenging and fun then the first one but all together it was a fun project. Im not sure if i will do it again, it was very tough to do and i cant wait as long as i thought. But all in all it was fun.

Project 1 Tiki hut (part 1 )

This is my first Blog post of the new semester. I decided to do a tiki hut! i made it all out of tooth picks and it was very difficult. I spent everyday for 3 weeks working on it and i also come in early some days. I finished it and then all i had left was the sadded part but that was relatively easy. I thought it was a great final project.

My passion for art. (likes and dislikes)

Art is a very strong word. It can mean different things to everyone. For me my passion is to make sculptures. I am not the best drawer so its a good thing that i am good with my hands. I have always thought forts and tiki's were cool so make a fort of my own. When i think of artists that sculpture i don't know any. I like older sculptures, they just look way cooler and they have a history. I know that i will never make a life-size marble sculpture of a lion or a human. Thats okay with me i am very content with making fun projects that take 3 weeks to finish. That is the perfect length because my attention span is not to terribly long. I don't like painting that much in art, i think its a lot of fun to paint but i don't know if i could paint for 3 weeks. So I think that those people that used to paint collages on the ceilings in old churches all over Europe. They would spend years doing it and yes its are now but it just takes too much time. So i think i will stick with my sculptures for now.

Project 3!!

For this project i made a collage of random drawing and i think it turned out really well. Me and Jonah both made one. Mine turned out better because i am a skillful artist!!! I also know how to hollow out clay! But this project although it is not my favorite project it is still really cool looking. I will also have this project hanging up at graduation. My mom is obsessed with putting up all of my artwork. This is a cool project, top 5 this year!!

My growth!!

Over the semester I have grown into a good little artist. I started off with drawing because I really like the band Motion City Soundtrack. Then I decided that I wanted to work with my hands a little more, so I started to make necklaces and bracelets. Then quarter 2 showed up and I decided I was going to do sculptures. I made Sebastian the crabs home and a sword made out of packing peanuts. I have learned how to be patient this semester. You have to take your time while making a necklace or bracelet. My favorite unit is my sword it’s the coolest project ever. I don’t have a least favorite project I have made. I got to pick every project I have done so I like them all. I like working with hemp. It relaxes me and helps me so I can make a great necklace.

Artist Reflection

My second project of the second quarter I made a sword. It is my favorite project I have ever made. The sword its self just looks so sweet and I made it so the peanuts line up perfectly. Then I thought where I got the idea why I wanted to make a sword. Well swords came from the middle ages. Arabs who lived in Toledo made the best swords. I have been to Toledo and it is so cool. They have a sword shop there and they make emblems and swords right there. It would take so much time to make swords, and everything is hand made. So I think I got my information to make my sword from the sword shop that is in Toledo.
